Texas and Oklahoma staged an encore to the Red River Showdown last season in the Big 12 championship game at AT&T Stadium.
Both schools are likely to open the next season somewhere in the AP top 10 and picked atop the Big 12.
In other words, a Red River two-step may be likely again in the title game Dec. 7.
During the recent Big 12 coaches meetings in Arizona, Herman said it's just a fact of Big 12 life - even if it is against Texas' biggest rivalry.
"It's difficult but it's what makes our conference so unique," Herman said "The conference title is always guaranteed to be a rematch and it's always guaranteed to be the two best teams in the conference.
