Texas suffers first injuries of preseason camp

After entering preseason camp close to full health, the Texas Longhorns are now in full pads and beginning to acquire the bumps and bruises that naturally result from practicing, as head coach Tom Herman announced on Wednesday that sophomore safety DeMarvion Overshown and senior running back Kirk Johnson have both suffered injuries.

Overshown, who suffered a knee injury last season in preseason camp that limited his contributions to mostly to special teams, now has a mid-foot sprain, but Herman is hopeful that he’ll only miss several days.

As for Johnson, he fell on his shoulder during practice and is receiving evaluation for a clavicle injury.
