AUSTIN, Texas — Beginning with the 2022 spring semester, The University of Texas will provide its student-athletes with additional financial assistance based on recent changes in NCAA and Big 12 legislation, related to the Supreme Court's decision in Alston v. NCAA. The Alston decision, which came in September, granted universities the opportunity to provide student-athletes with additional education-related benefits and direct financial support in the form of academic achievement awards, up to the legally established maximum of $5,980 per year.
