Well, I’ll go ahead and state the painfully obvious.
After being swept in Stillwater this past weekend, Texas desperately needed a win Tuesday night in San Marcos.
Masen Hibbeler got things started early for Texas with a run scoring single up the middle, however the Bobcats answered with a first inning run of their own to even things back at one.
Texas State then took a 3-1 lead in the fifth inning after back-to-back solo home runs courtesy of outfielders Will Hollis and John Wuthrich.
Headed to the seventh still trailing by two, the game and the season appeared to be slipping away from the Horns.
