Texas’ special teams were a Jekyll-and-Hyde unit in 2017, highlighted by two disparate kicking specialists. One one end of the spectrum was standout punter Michael Dickson, who kicked his way to both the Ray Guy Award and Texas Bowl MVP.
On the opposite end were kickers Joshua Rowland and Mitchell Becker. The pair combined to go 11-19 on field goal attempts, often forcing head coach Tom Herman to eschew scoring opportunities in opposing territory. While Dickson was often Herman’s best weapon, Texas’ kickers limited the team’s offense often throughout the season
So how will Texas’ special teams fare in 2018?
