The Texas Longhorns could be without another key contributor on Saturday in Manhattan against the Kansas State Wildcats — and for the remainder of the decision — as junior safety Caden Sterns is expected to opt out, according to multiple reports on Monday.

If the 6’1, 207-pounder does opt out, he would become the second Texas player to do so. On Sunday, redshirt junior left tackle Sam Cosmi opted out and declared for the 2021 NFL Draft. So the next question for Sterns if he decides not to play for the remainder of the season is whether Sterns also declares for the draft.
