Texas officials announced that junior safety Brandon Jones will not return for the second half against Kansas after suffering a head injury.
Jones took a big hit from Kansas safety Emmanuel Moore right after fielding a punt near midfield late in the second quarter.
Moore's helmet-to-helmet hit was flagged for targeting, leading to his ejection from the game. Meanwhile, Jones walked slowly off the field and eventually headed for the locker room.
It was a tough break for Jones, who had missed Texas' last three games with an ankle injury. And it was another tough break for Texas' defense, which has battled a bevy of injuries in recent weeks.
