Texas Longhorns running back commit Jaydon Blue announced on Thursday that he will opt out of his senior season at Klein Cain in order to focus on his academics and off-field training.
The 5’11.5, 205-pounder noted that it was a difficult decision made with his family with the understanding that running backs suffer a significant amount of wear and tear. And while Blue ends his high school career with one quarter of the carries that Aledo product Johnathan Gray had when he arrived on the Forty Acres, Blue’s decision is meant to ensure that when he enrolls at Texas next January, he’ll be in position to perform at what he termed an “elite level.
