Earlier this year in the college football offseason, some spectators were surprised to hear Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers’ announcement of a return to Texas in 2024.
It was surprising for a handful of reasons:
1) Incoming second-year quarterback Arch Manning, who redshirted last season, is likely the most hyped college football prospect of all time. For most folks, it seems, the expectation was that Ewers would bow out for the NFL Draft, while Manning took the reigns in year two.
2) Ewers is very, very good at throwing the football. That kind of goes without saying.
