Texas QB-turned-TE Tyrone Swoopes signs with Seattle Seahawks as undrafted free agent

While Tyrone Swoopes didn't earn a selection in the NFL Draft, the former Texas quarterback will get his chance in pros. The Seattle Seahawks signed the "18 Wheeler" as a tight end after the draft's conclusion on Saturday, according to Rivals' Alex Dunlap.

At 6-4, Swoopes converted to tight end after finishing his senior season at Texas. He impressed scouts at Texas' pro day, running a 4.65 40-yard dash.

Swoopes has a deep track record as a ball carrier, but must develop a standout blocking or receiving ability to stick in the league. Over the past two years, he primarily operated as a short-yardage runner in a designed situational package.
