Texas Longhorns star quarterback Sam Ehlinger’s sensational efforts extend beyond his contributions on the football field, and those efforts have once again earned Ehlinger a place on the preseason Wuerffel Trophy watch list, which is presented annually to the college football player that best combines exemplary community service with academic and athlete achievement.
A semifinalist for the honor last season, it’s safe to say Ehlinger is worthy of his preseason placement, as detailed per the release:
“Ehlinger, an Austin native, has started all 27 games for UT over the past two seasons and leads all active FBS quarterbacks in completions (571), attempts (879), passing yards (6,955), total offense (8,100) and total touchdowns (80) since the start of the 2018 season.
