After full participating in Wednesday’s practice, Texas Longhorns sophomore quarterback Sam Ehlinger is expected to play on Friday against the Kansas Jayhawks in Lawrence, head coach Tom Herman said, according to a statement from the school.
On Tuesday, Ehlinger threw for the first time since re-aggravating the shoulder injury that he originally suffered against Baylor when he attempted to pick up a first down late in the first half against Iowa State.
Ehlinger took a face mask to his right shoulder, which caused an AC contusion. Though the sophomore lobbied Herman to return to the field in the second half, Ehlinger was held out as junior backup Shane Buechele replaced him and completed all 10 of his passes as the Longhorns pulled out the victory.
