In yet another twist in the ongoing saga that is the Longhorns' quarterback room, freshman Casey Thompson has reportedly decided to remain at Texas, after originally denying a report saying that he was staying.
Thompson, who was listed as fourth on Texas' depth chart in 2018 and was the practice squad quarterback, entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal last month, along with fellow freshman Cameron Rising, just days before the Longhorns headed to New Orleans for the Allstate Sugar Bowl.
Following news Wednesday night that junior backup Shane Buechele intended to enter his name into the transfer database and that Rising had decided to transfer and was no longer with the team, Chip Brown of Horns247 reported that Thompson was staying at Texas.
