AUSTIN -- Through just two games as a Longhorn, freshman running back Keaontay Ingram has already demonstrated just the kind of explosive player he is in the backfield.
But following the Longhorns' 28-21 win over Tulsa on Saturday night in their home opener, Texas coach Tom Herman announced that Ingram sustained a knee injury during the game and was unable to return. Ingram will be further evaluated Sunday, and it's unclear how serious it is.
Herman also said that senior linebacker Anthony Wheeler was poked in the eye during the game and "had trouble focusing." Wheeler was also unable to return.
