AUSTIN — Texas’ new up-tempo offense will include a little bit of NFL flavor, too.
The Longhorns announced Monday they have fired former Indianapolis Colts assistant Charlie Williams to be their new wide receivers coach. Williams replaces Jay Norvell, who left UT to become the passing game coordinator at Arizona State.
Williams spent the last four years with the Colts, including three as a receivers coach and one coaching running backs. He was one of six assistants fired by head coach Chuck Pagano last month.
In a statement released by the school, UT head coach Charlie Strong called Williams a “well-respected” and “high-energy coach.
