AUSTIN, Texas -- In its first home game since the passing of Bevo XIV, Texas set up a memorial for its beloved mascot and has several tributes planned for its game Saturday against Kansas State.
A print of Bevo XIV was set up in the south corner of Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium where he usually rested during games. A moment of silence was observed before kickoff and Bevo XIV's owners, John T. and Betty Baker, were honored on the field. Texas is also planning a halftime tribute.
