Texas P Michael Dickson named Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Year

For the second straight year, Texas Longhorns punter Michael Dickson, a junior, was named Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Year by the Big 12 league office. The award was voted on by the league’s head coaches.

Only one other player, Kansas State wide receiver Tyler Lockett, has won the award twice in conference history.

Dickson leads the nation in punting with a 48.4-yard average and a net average of 44.7 yards per punt. Next week, he should earn the Ray Guy Award as the nation’s best punter.

Against TCU this season, Dickson boomed a 76-yard punt that ranks as his career long and the fifth-longest punt in the country this season.
