The Texas Longhorns pursuit of in-state talent continued on Monday, with defensive line coach Oscar Giles extending an offer to Mansfield Legacy strong-side defensive end Taurean Carter, he announced on Twitter.
The Longhorns offer comes the day after Carter announced his top 10 schools, which includes TCU, Oklahoma State, Florida, and Michigan State.
With Texas jumping into the mix, not only do the Longhorns likely join Carter’s top group in the near future, but the versatile prospect becomes just the fifth strong-side defensive end to notch a Texas offer this cycle. Of those, the Longhorns have already earned a pledge from Huntsville product T’Vondre Sweat.
