On Tuesday, the signing class for the Texas Longhorns took a significant hit, as Houston Langham Creek outfielder Korey Holland signed with the Cleveland Indians, who had selected him in the 14th round, according to MLB.com’s Jim Callis:
14th-rder Korey Holland signs w/@Indians for $515k ($390k counts vs bonus pool). Texas HS OF, plus speed, solid CF, nice line-drive approach at plate. Texas recruit. @MLBDraft

Holland was expected to compete for a starting job at Texas this fall, as the Horns need some help in the outfield, despite the fact that two starters return.
