Texas OC Tim Beck opens up playbook with multiple passes to QB Sam Ehlinger vs. Texas Tech

Texas quarterback Sam Ehlinger took the opening snap against Texas Tech on Friday. He handed it off to running back Daniel Young, who moved to the left and flipped it backwards to receiver Lil'Jordan Humphrey.

The Southlake Carroll product then ran and flung a deep ball to Ehlinger. The trick play netted 27 yards and jumpstarted a four-play 75-yard scoring drive on the opening series.

Offensive coordinator Tim Beck's bold play calling didn't stop there. He called another reverse for receiver Reggie Hemphill-Mapps early in the second quarter. A few minutes later, Texas ran a direct snap that ended up in a throw from receiver John Burt to Ehlinger at the goal line — this time an incomplete.
