Ohio State freshman RB and Texas native J.K. Dobbins grew up a big Texas Longhorn fan. So how did the La Grange product end up playing college football in Columbus?
Coaches seem to have played a key role in that decision -- on both sides of the spectrum.
Urban Meyer was a key factor in drawing Dobbins out of the state. Dobbins said Meyer helped persuade Dobbins' mom to let her son leave the state -- something she was originally apprehensive about. Dobbins said he along with being a Longhorn fan, he also grew up admiring Ohio State and Florida, and that Meyer was a key reason for him liking the Gators.
