Texas' Michael Dickson wins Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Year, Poona Ford earns DL award

The Big 12 revealed several of its regular season award winners on Thursday, and two Longhorns are taking home hardware. The conference named punter Michael Dickson Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Year and defensive tackle Poona Ford Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the Year.

The award marks Dickson's second straight season as the Big 12's top special teams player. Known for booming kicks absurd distances, he ranks No. 1 in the nation with a 48.4-yard punting average. The junior from Australia is on pace to break the school record he set last season of 47.4 yards.
