The Texas men’s tennis team took the doubles point and surrendered just four games in singles competition to defeat Navy 4-0 in the first round of the NCAA Championships at Weller Indoor Tennis Center on Friday.
Nick Naumann and Michael Riechmann defeated Joshua Martin and Alex Gaines 8-3 to open doubles play. Lloyd Glasspool and Soren Hess-Olesen then defeated Thomas Pecor and Austin Jones 8-5 to seal the first point for the Longhorns.
Hess-Olesen defeated Calvin Mark 6-1, 6-2 to take the first singles point for Texas before George Goldhoff won in straight sets over Blake Daniel.
