The UT ROTC graduate and retired Air Force colonel will be honored during the coin toss when Texas Football hosts Oklahoma State.
Harry "Steve" Stevenson initiated his distinguished military career at The University of Texas. The ROTC graduate was commissioned into the Army as a second lieutenant in 1966, and he served for five years, including 27 months of combat tours in Vietnam.
The company commander, Green Beret and paratrooper requested to continue fighting in Vietnam but was stationed in San Antonio as a combat infantry officer and instructor.
At that time, Stevenson was compelled to combine his purpose to serve and his passion.
