The retired Army colonel and current vice president for UT Campus Safety and Security will be honored during the coin toss when Texas Football hosts Texas Tech.
Bob Harkins served his country and continues to serve The University of Texas community with a diligent commitment to work ethic.
He retired as a colonel after 27 years in the Army. It was a Friday. He started his new role leading campus security at the University of Pittsburgh just two days later. And likewise, when he was commissioned to Texas to oversee Campus Safety and Security in 2005, he worked a football game for Pittsburgh on a Saturday, drove to Texas during the Labor Day weekend and started back to work on Tuesday.
