It’s been a while since we’ve since the gun-slinging Colt McCoy played in a meaningful NFL game. After Alex Smith suffered a gruesome leg injury in the third quarter, it was McCoy’s turn at quarterback. He took over with the Redskins trailing 17-7 and gave them a chance at a game-winning field goal. The field goal was no good but McCoy brought a much-needed spark to the Redskins and showed he can be the starter moving forward.
It was announced after the game that Smith suffered two broken bones in his leg and is out for the rest of the season.
