Texas will have leading scorer Kerwin Roach back for the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship this week in Kansas City.
During Monday's Big 12 teleconference, coach Shaka Smart said Roach has been reinstated following a "indefinite" suspension that turned into five games. The return of the 6-4 senior for the postseason comes at a particularly important time for the Longhorns.
Texas went 1-4 during Roach's absence to fall to 16-15, squarely on the NCAA Tournament bubble, ahead of a Thursday quarterfinal meeting with No. 3 seed Kansas. A 69-56 home loss Saturday to TCU might have been the most disappointing of the season.
