Days after sophomore linebacker Ayodele Adeoye was ruled out for spring practice due to a foot injury, the Texas Longhorns suffered a bigger blow at the position when news broke that junior Juwan Mitchell entered the NCAA transfer portal.
The 6’1`, 240-pounder appeared in 11 games for Texas in 2018, starting against West Virginia, Oklahoma, and TCU. With 39 tackles, Mitchell finished seventh on the team in that category, and added 3.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, and four passes broken up.
There were concerns about Mitchell’s future, however, when he was the only player to leave the field before the Eyes of Texas following the win over Texas Tech to finish the regular season.
