MANHATTAN, Kan. - D’Shawn Jamison has three carries for minus-20 yards in his short college career.
The Texas freshman showed in the first quarter of a 19-14 win over Kansas State why no one is too concerned about those numbers. Jamison hauled in a Kansas State punt at his own 10, broke through the first wave, picked up a couple key blocks en route to the sideline and went 90 yards for Texas’ first touchdown. It was the fourth-longest punt return in Texas history.
Later in the game, Texas went to Brandon Jones, who coach Tom Herman said was the “punt safe guy, to guard against fakes and provide a veteran presence.
