Earlier today, Sporting News announced that three Texas Longhorns football players made the cut for the publication’s All-American team this year.
That includes junior offensive lineman Kelvin Banks, senior defensive back Jahdae Barron, and sophomore linebacker Anthony Hill. Banks and Barron were listed among this year’s first team, and Hill, the second team.
As Inside Texas noted, that makes Banks a unanimous All-American for 2024. He’s only the 25th Texas player to earn the honor; this year, Banks also earned All-SEC recognition on its first team, an Outland Award, and a Lombardi Award. In recent weeks, the junior offensive lineman and soon-to-be (likely) NFL Draft first round pick has battled an ankle injury since Texas beat the Texas A&M Aggies in College Station to end the 2024 regular season.
