The Texas Longhorns coaching staff is still busy on Monday, even after a big recruiting weekend, as Lufkin safety Jerrin Thompson is on the Forty Acres, according to multiple reports.
It’s an important visit for both Thompson and the Longhorns, as the Texas staff waited until quite late in the process to enter the 6’0.5, 183-pounder’s recruitment. For some prospects, that can create some hard feelings, but safeties coach Craig Naivar clearly read Thompson correctly, so he’s on campus less than a week after receiving his offer.
He’s also a recruit who seems likely to end up in the Texas recruiting class, perhaps in the near future — his offer from the Horns immediately produced a 247Sports Crystal Ball pick in favor of the Longhorns less than a half hour after Thompson announced the offer on Twitter.
