Already missing three starters entering the game, the Texas Longhorns suffered more injuries in the first quarter against the West Virginia Mountaineers in Morgantown.
Following a personal foul penalty on the first drive by West Virginia, sophomore safety BJ Foster suffered what appeared to be a neck injury on the second drive when he hit a Mountaineers player with his helmet lowered. He was called for a targeting penalty, but wasn’t ejected for the game. However, Foster did leave the game to receive medical treatment. The sophomore had just returned after missing two games with a hamstring injury.
