The comeback of Texas Longhorns junior guard Andrew Jones suffered a setback on October 4, when Jones suffered a fractured toe in practice, the school revealed on Saturday.
Though a full recovery is expected from Jones, there is not currently a timetable for his return to activity.
Jones was diagnosed with leukemia in early January and spent most of the year receiving treatment. However, he was able to move back to Austin and start attending classes again at the beginning of the fall semester.
His goal has been to play basketball season and he was participating in practice, but head coach Shaka Smart wasn’t willing to comment on whether Jones would be ready to play when the season begins when he held a press conference in late September.
