AUSTIN -- Texas junior guard Andrew Jones' comeback to the basketball court has taken a setback.
Texas announced Saturday morning that Jones fractured a toe in his right foot. The injury occurred in practice on Thursday, Oct. 4. There is no timetable for Jones' return.
Jones, who was diagnosed with leukemia in early January and missed the remainder of the 2017-18 season, finished chemotherapy treatment in August and has recently been practicing with the Longhorns.
Texas coach Shaka Smart spoke with the media last month before the start of practices and did not rule out a return to the court this season for Jones, but he was cautiously optimistic.
