The potential red-hot start that Texas football was looking for out of the gates this year didn’t quite happen, despite having a similar non-conference slate as 2017. The last of the same non-conference opponents as last season comes in Week 3 for the Longhorns, against the storied USC Trojans.
No. 21 ranked USC is coming off a tough road loss in its PAC-12 opener at the hands of superstar running back Bryce Love and the Stanford Cardinal. Last year, it was Stanford that was thoroughly handled by the Trojans at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum before USC picked up and hosted the Horns the following week.
