One of the biggest question marks over the course of the off-season for the Texas football program was how the hierarchy would emerge in the backfield. The running backs were a question mark for nearly the entire 2017 campaign for the Longhorns, but there’s more depth in the backfield this time around.
To cap off the 2017 season for the Horns, then true freshman running back Daniel Young was the headlining rusher. He had a nice outing in the Texas Bowl win against the Mizzou Tigers with more than 100 total yards and one touchdown. That earned him the second spot on the depth chart in the backfield.
