If there’s one player that the offense for Texas football can turn to this year that’s providing a new spark, it’s senior running back Tre Watson. Texas football had more trouble in the ground game last year than it had since the 2013 campaign. The additions of true freshman running back Keaontay Ingram and the former Cal Golden Bears graduate transfer Watson made immediate impacts.
The trio of Watson, Ingram and sophomore quarterback Sam Ehlinger gave the Texas football ground game new life. Last year, the Texas Longhorns mainly relied on a trio that included senior Chris Warren III, and a pair of true freshmen in Daniel Young and Toneil Carter.
