Texas football landed one of the home run hires on the coaching carousel during the 2017 off-season for college football. During his first-year at the helm in Austin, head football coach for the Longhorns Tom Herman got the program back on course following a tough end to the tenure of Charlie Strong. Texas also finished on a good note with a quality postseason win over an SEC foe in the Mizzou Tigers.
All this success up to this point during the tenure of Herman means great things for the direction of this Texas football program. Since the end of the Mack Brown-era, the Horns have struggled to find its way back on the path to contention both nationally and in the Big 12.
