At this point, Texas football is eliminated from the College Football Playoff picture. But, there are two teams entangled in the race for the final spot in the College Football Playoff. Texas football was effectively eliminated from Playoff contention after it notched its second loss of the season, against the Oklahoma State Cowboys on Oct. 27.
There’s also some shakeups that could happen for the top two teams in the rankings. The No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide and No. 2 Clemson Tigers could drop out of the Playoff field if either loses its conference title game this week.
