Aug. 23 will always go down as a special day for senior Texas football defensive back Jamarquis Durst with a big surprise that came his way. During a team meeting, the former walk-on defensive back for the Longhorns got the announcement that he would receive a scholarship for the University of Texas.
Amid a stretch run of the off-season filled with headlines that weren’t the most beneficial to the program, this is a nice way to possibly cap things off. Durst is a hard working and deserving player that got the support of his teammates with this scholarship.
