As Texas football enters the home stretch in recruiting for 2016, Charlie Strong will have to finish without one of his assistant coaches. Running backs coach Tommie Robinson announced on Monday that he was leaving the Longhorns and returning to USC to take the same job.
Robinson’s departure comes as no surprise. His original two year contract was set to expire at the end of the month and there was little reason to believe that either side was interested in renewing Robinson’s deal.
While his departure may not be a surprise to those who follow the program, at least one of his recruits didn’t take the news so well.
