It’s plagued him for the last two seasons at time and got in his way of taking hold of the starting role under center. Junior Texas football quarterback Shane Buechele is fighting his way to winning the starting quarterback job over sophomore Sam Ehlinger. Even some incoming freshman quarterbacks like Casey Thompson and Cameron Rising could outdo Buechele on the depth chart by season’s end.
For the past two seasons, Buechele has started the most games out of any quarterback for the Horns. He’s split time with two other quarterbacks mainly, including Ehlinger and former quarterback converted to tight end Tyrone Swoopes.
