Up until a few weeks back as of Dec. 14, the 2019 Texas football recruiting class didn’t have a single decommit. The first decommit that came along for the 2019 Texas football recruiting class was the four-star Oklahoma City, OK, and Millwood High School wide receiver Demariyon Houston. Then, four-star Odessa, TX, athlete Peyton Powell became the second 2019 high school prospect to open up his recruitment from this class in a matter of weeks.
On Dec. 13, Powell’s decommit dropped the 2019 Texas football recruiting class from 21 commits down to 20. The lack of any commits for this class, combined with the two decommits from Powell and Houston, dropped the Texas Longhorns out of the top five ranked 2019 classes in the nation.
