Of late, Texas football recruiting used some of the tidal wave of success on the field to draw in some talented commits for the 2019 class. The most recent of those commits came on Sep. 24, following the 31-16 win over the TCU Horned Frogs, in four-star Plano East High School safety Tyler Owens. This is the second commit within the last 10 days for the Longhorns.
The 2019 Texas football recruiting class isn’t shaping up to be of the same level as the 2018 group of signees. However, it is still ranked second best in the Big 12 and ninth best in the nation at this moment, per 247Sports Team Composite Rankings.
