When Texas takes the field in the Big 12 opener, the tone will be set for the rest of the season. If Texas is able to control a game against the Oklahoma State Cowboys from beginning to end to start off the Big 12 slate, that will indicate a new era of football on the Forty Acres and a changing of the guard in the conference standings.
