Heading into the 2020 season, the Texas football program will be looking to rejuvenate the play on the defensive side of the ball coming off two straight poor seasons statistically in Big 12 play. Last year, Texas wasn’t burned as much through the middle of the Big 12 slate as they were in 2018. But the offense also wasn’t playing as good which meant the defense needed to step up more than they actually did.
As a result, head coach Tom Herman made the necessary adjustment and let go of former defensive coordinator Todd Orlando after three years with the program.
