The time that the 2021 Texas football recruiting class has to piece together the rest of the potential signees in the mix is dwindling down. But Texas did land a commitment from a big-time defensive back target on July 3, with the announcement of the pledge of four-star John Muir cornerback Jamier Johnson to play on the Forty Acres.
Texas is now up to 14 commits in their 2021 class, with the highest rated of the bunch being five-star Denton-Ryan athlete Ja’Tavion Sanders. After the commitment of Johnson, Texas now has nine four-star commits in the 2021 class and one-five star.
