Texas football has not been around the title scene since the 2010 BCS National Championship game. This saw Alabama defeat them, 37-21 in a matchup that never seemed close.
Part of the reason why the Longhorns have made two coaching changes since then is the desire to get back into the mix for a championship. Charlie Strong did not show enough promise with his losing record in three straight seasons, so the school fired him.
Under new head coach Tom Herman, the Longhorns may face some growing pains adjusting to a new offensive and defensive schemes. However, they are still being predicted to hover around the title scene next season.
