Texas football has hovered around a .500 record since Mack Brown left the Forty Acres, through Charlie Strong, and even into the start of the Tom Herman coaching era. Seven wins was about the best result for the Longhorns in the past four years, which is something that fans hope will change very soon.
With such a difficult schedule and no established stars set for the 2018 season, it’s obvious that Texas is not ready to 100% stake a claim for top contention for the Big 12 Championship Game. However, the Horns do have the second best odds to win the Big 12 in 2018 due to the lack of competition at the very top outside of the Oklahoma Sooners and TCU Horned Frogs.
