It didn’t take all that long for the Texas football program to find their next defensive coordinator, after the firing of former third-year defensive coordinator Todd Orlando on “Black Sunday”. Head Texas football coach Tom Herman looked to have traction with this particular candidate that he decided to hire on Dec. 15 right away.
Herman decided to go with former Rutgers Scarlet Knights head coach Chris Ash to be the next defensive coordinator with the Texas Longhorns football program. According to a report from 247Sports, Ash was hired by the Longhorns to be the second-ever defensive coordinator under Herman on the Forty Acres.
